In a recent incident in Jharkhand's Simdega district, authorities apprehended 11 individuals in connection with an attack on a police station officer and a dhaba owner. This information was confirmed by a local official.
The incident unfolded around 11:55 PM on Monday night when the Bansjor police station received reports of a robbery and assault occurring at a dhaba in the village of Tagra.
Police Response and Crowd Attack
Superintendent of Police Mohammad Arshi stated that upon receiving the alert, Officer Vinay Kumar and his team rushed to the scene, where they found approximately 30 to 35 men and women physically assaulting dhaba owner Sukhjinder Singh and his employee, Parag Singh.
As the police attempted to intervene, the crowd surrounded them and launched an attack. In response to the escalating situation, additional police forces were dispatched to the location, successfully rescuing the officer and the dhaba owner while transporting the injured to a hospital.
Legal Actions and Arrests
The Superintendent noted that a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against 30 to 40 individuals involved in the incident. Following this, police conducted raids at various locations, leading to the arrest of 11 suspects.
Dhaba Owner's Account
The dhaba owner recounted that on Diwali night, some locals from Taraga Patratoli arrived with intentions to gamble and drink alcohol. When they were denied entry, they left but later returned with 20 to 25 others, attacking him and stealing his money.
